Two decades

A quiet evolution

Some businesses grow quickly. Ours grew carefully, one appointment at a time.

2003

Broadway Beauty Salon

Our journey began in June 2003, in a busy indoor market at the heart of multicultural Stratford. With just three members of staff and a handful of treatments — waxing, simple facials and nail care — we opened a small salon called Broadway Beauty Salon and hoped for the best.

2013

Growing with Stratford

Word travelled from one neighbour to the next, and soon people were queuing outside for their appointments. Local vendors nicknamed us the "Busy Bee House": small, humble and always buzzing. By 2013, the 2012 Olympics had brought new energy to Stratford. We took over the unit next door, expanded our team, and introduced electrolysis and IPL laser hair removal. The city was becoming more vibrant, so we renewed our salon to match it.

2024

A New Beginning

For over a decade, Broadway Beauty Salon became part of everyday life in the community — until 2024, when we learned that Market Village would be closing for good. This could have been the end. But our customers would not let it be. They signed a petition and reminded us how much we meant to them. That support gave us the courage to begin again.

Today

Bodhi Aesthetics & Nail Spa

We chose the name carefully. Bodhi means a moment of clarity and wisdom. After twenty years in this journey, we are wiser, more experienced and ready to awaken into something new. Our new home in Stratford is spacious and calm, with room for advanced aesthetic treatments alongside the waxing, facials and nail care that started it all.

Community

Built by the people who kept us here

Stratford has always been a wonderfully multicultural city, and our customers reflect that beautifully.

Over the past twenty years, we have had the privilege of serving three generations of the same families — watching children grow into parents, and parents into grandparents, all still walking through our doors. Every day we welcome people from all walks of life, and that diversity is something we are deeply proud to be part of.

To everyone who once queued outside Broadway, signed a petition to save us, or has just walked through the doors of Bodhi for the first time: thank you. You are the reason we are still here.
